** Obituary **
Melissa E. Aldrich Compton, 19, of Ridgeway, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, in an automobile accident in Patrick County.
Funeral was held at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, VA.
Burial was held at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway.
She was born Oct. 27, 1986, in Fremont, Neb., and was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest Greenfield and Melvin and Josephine Aldrich.
She graduated from Patrick County High School in 2004 and attended Patrick Henry Community College. She was a member of Mayo Mountain Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Christopher Compton of the home; father, Melvin G. Aldrich Jr. of Nebraska; mother and stepfather, Brenda G. and Chester Springston of Stuart; sister, Katherine Aldrich of Lexington; brother, Melvin Aldrich II of Stuart; half-sister, Parthenia Garlock of Wisconsin; three stepsisters, Genean Springston of West Virginia, and Geri Hazelwood and Chessie Rakes, both of Stuart; and grandparents, Kraig and Sumiko Jacobson of Nebraska.
